The Multi-Tool Museum has a accumulated a collection of Leatherman catalogs and advertisements, including the original 1983 advertising leaflet for the Pocket Survival Tool. Scans will be uploaded later to preserve this history but one thing that immediately caught my eye was that the PST shown in the 1983 advertisement appears to be marked "007". It's difficult to see the markings but it does look like it is marked:

A Pocket Survival Tool numbered 001 is shown in David Darom's book The Great Collections (photo), suggesting that there may be a complete run of numbered Leatherman PSTs from 001 to atleast 007.
